#1 [MTA] imap - apache - php4 でも

と思って /export/pkgsrc/mail/php4-imap を見たら、 imap-uw>=2002.4 のよう。cyrus-imapd の方だったら。

socket: Address family not supported by protocol

この字は、DNS を索いたら AAAA という行があったけれど、その AAAA という Address family は、ここではプロトコルとして利用出来ない
という意味らしい。 DNS を索いても AAAA が出て来ないようにしたら、消えた。 (どうやったかと言うと hostname4 のように IPv4 だけが返る名前を追加した。というか意味としては AAAA 行を消した)

#2 [csh] .cshrc で ${term}

~/.tcshrc に次の字が書いてある。

if  ${term} != 'emacs' then
  set hilit = '%{\033[34m%}';

(bash な)他の機械から ssh hostname echo test とした時に、ここを通るが、term 変数が未定義だと、

test
term: Undefined variable.

となって、うるさい。さて避ける方法は ?
もしかして大文字を使えば大丈夫 ? だめ。
ssh hostname4 env
ってやると、良く分る。(が TERM は伝わっていない)

#2 [Emacs] pcl-cvs

M-x cvs-status する時に、status -v してくれちゃう環境と、 status に -v の付かない環境がある。 -v が付いてしまうと、画面が乱れる。何ということなのかな。誰か教えて ?
Some environment of Emacs/pcl-cvs issues the command cvs status -v when M-x cvs-status invoked.
Another environment does not add -v for the cvs status.
Does anyone know why ?
I would like to know how not to add -v flag for cvs status when M-x cvs-status issued.

という話があって、もちろん、ある種の設定をすれば、 su 出来るようになるのだけれど、設定をしなくても

＠まとめ:

ssh-agent -c とすると、ssh-agent を走らせた上で、csh/tcsh に必要な環境変数を表示する。
eval を使うと、その環境変数の設定を受取るので、その結果 ssh-add する process を知る。
ssh-add して passphrase を一度入力すると、そのshell では、その結果、以降の passphrase が不要になる。
emacs の場合は、もう少し簡単な方法もあるということ。

#1 [Mail] MIME 違反と書いたら

確かにそういう気もするのだけれど、日本と限らない場合、今時、文字コード(charset) を指定しないでメールを送ったとして、その文字コードを iso-2022-jp だと推定して欲しいというのは、気が良すぎる、というのがあの時の僕の考え方。
正直なところ、Eudora-6.1 (の WinXP 版)で、その機能がなくて読めなかったのは、

僕がそういう設定を見つけられなかったのがアホ
Eudora にそういう機能がないのがアホ
そのメールが読めないとしても、MUA の設計としては、そういう選択もある。

のどれというべきでしょうか。2. ということかなぁ。
