[Linux] Ubuntu 11.10 upgrade
きのう、NetBSD/5.1 amd64 の xen33 の上で動いている Ubuntu 11.04
を久振りに起動したら、
Welcome to Ubuntsu 11.10 'Oneiric Ocelog'
と言うので、「今すぐアップグレードする」を選んで小一時間更新をしていて、
再起動もした。その時には、画面に 11.10 と出ていて、
Mac OS X 風のアイコンが画面の左側に縦に並んでいた。
きょう、また起動したら、それをすっかり忘れて (?)
また同じアップグレードをたづねる画面になっている。何が悪かったのかな。
と思ったら、二つ Ubuntu があって、違う方を見ていた。
vncviewer :1 と vncviewer :0 の違いだった。

これは、#include "machine/reloc.h" で macppc を見に行くけれど powerpc の方
にあるということで、#include にしないで展開してしまえば、だった。

がまだ(本来の姿で)動いていないのに、
次の HD-HGLAN を何故か入手した。電源を入れる前に分解して
写真を
撮る。直列通信口を付ける。
14.7456MHz の水晶が付いている。147,456 = 256 x 57,600 なので、
この機械の通信速度は
いままでの機械
と違ってちょうどの値になっているのだろう。
AVR が Atmel のものでないようだ

全く新しい disk をつないで:
firmware update をしたところ、一回目は「ファームウェアの更新に失敗しました」
と言っていたが (卓を見る限り何か変な状態になっているらしかったので)、もう一度
同じことをしたら、正常に使えるようになり、管理者パスワードも、元は空に設定され
ていたので、変更が可能だった。つまり
HD-HGLAN に新しい disk をつないでも使えるようには出来る、と言える。

けばいいのか。Niibe さんにおこられそう。
でも、
「Wnn7 が自分の機械で動いている場合には、それが必要ない」
ことは説明が付かない。

[NetBSD][CDROM] bootable macppc CDROM
distrib/cdrom の下で make するのって、ぼくには応用が効かない
(というか効かせるには分り難い)気がする。ので、以前の方法を調べる。

[NetBSD] root file system type: ffs から先に行かない問題

これで一応開いたが、iBook ではこれは動かなかったので 2002-04-17 を入れる。
X の suid bit が立っていない。... fvwm2 も入れておく

[機械] Fast Page 16MBytes 72pin SIMM wit Parity
はなかったときのう書いたけれど、
メディア・バレーに行ったら 16 x 2 = 32M を 14,400 円
で売っていた。しかし二つは必要ないのだなぁ。
/pkgsrc というのを作って、
/export/pkgsrc の下に union mount しておけば、中身を他の機械と共有したり
rsync したりするのに便利かなと思って、
- 126M Byte の区画を作って見た。 (特に端数は意味がない)
- /etc/fstab に -b option で書く方法が分らなかったので、 /etc/rc.local に次のように書いておいた。
mount_union -b /pkgsrc /export/pkgsrc
- ところが、inode が足りないと言って全部入らなかった。
- (ので) newfs -m 2 -i 1024 /dev/wd0f で作り直し
- いまは、こんな感じ。

page 333 / 7-65 / section "7.6.3.2.2 Clearing the Referenced (R) Bit":

yea, that looks like it. the manual appears to be wrong.
the old pmap looks more like the "general case" section right before that.
we should note that the section 7.6.3.2.2 code is only for clearing
the referenced bit, not the modified bit "because the R bit need not
be maintained exactly." if we want to optimize pmap_clear_reference()
to use this faster algorithm, it can't share code with pmap_clear_modify().
