最近日記を書いていない。書くことがあっても書くのを忘れてしまう。 CQ WW WPX CW (5/30) のこともまだ書いていないはずだ。この数日は、喉を痛めて、咳がひどく、とてもつらかった。
さて、きょうは ML-110 の四台目が来た訳だが、確か三台目が来たとき (5/16) のことも書き忘れている気がする。
それで、本当はやるべきことが沢山あるのに、必ずよけいなことに手を出そうとしてしまうことがある。この四台目にも 2011/05/10 に書いた Promise FastTrak S150 SX4 が入っている。これを何とかするのも面白いなと思って

＠久し振りに elscreen-gf を使おうとしたら:

以前に良く使っていた insert key の割当が効いていない。

<insert> (translated from <kp-insert>) runs the command elscreen-gf-idutils-gid

(これは直した後で取ったもの) 何も設定する前に xmodmap -pke > /tmp/map とすると

keycode  94 = less greater less greater bar brokenbar

のようになっている。これが何に由来するのかなと、少し調べまわったが分らなかった。それで、今は、.xmodmap の設定には、

keycode  94 = KP_Insert

のように書いておいて、.emacs の方で、次に書いたものが有効になるようにしている

(global-set-key [insert] 'elscreen-gf-idutils-gid)

それと、そういう訳で、elscreen をしばらく使っていなかった訳だが、最近の emacs-24.0.50 ではどうも argi を知らないと言うので、elscreen.el も少し変更している。
それで src/sys/dev/pci/pciidevar.h を眺めたりしている。

#1 [Mail] .procmailrc の続き (一致した文字列から一部削りたい)

06/12 の日記に書いた続きだけれど、

hoge-bounces+bar=example.com@....

の hoge の部分だけを拾う、というのはちょっと工夫が必要だった。つまり -bounces がある時が条件だけれど、それを言ってしまうと、その文字の部分も拾ってしまう。それは後から削る必要があった。

#1 [機械] 液冷式 PowerMac G5 (?)

家人の使っている PowerMac G5 が電源ボタンを押してもリレーの接断するようなカチンという音がするだけで電源が入らなくなった。中を開けて見ると、信じられないほどの(け)埃り。
それで傾けると下から透明な液が漏れ出るような気がする。
電源を交換すれば良いかと思うが、まだ開けられない。しかも CPU 部分はリべット締のようで開けられなくなっている。どうもこれは液冷式のものかも知れない。多分修理は不可 (非常に高くつく)のではないかと思う。
とりあえず、disk だけ取出して他の機械につないで使えるか見ている。
冷却液は緑色のようで、透明な液は冷却液ではなさそう。

恥ずかしながら、実は namazu に filter を追加する時の addMagicEntry の意味が良く分っていなかった。

これは上の注に書いたように File::MMagic の説明を perldoc File::MMagic で見るか、更にその中に書いてある man 5 magic をすれば分る話で、

offset type (pattern) message

を" の場合には \t" か TAB で、また 'の場合なら TAB で' 区切って書く、というものだということがやっと分った。もっともずうっと昔に mhonarch の例を見て、見よう見真似で書いていたことはあるのだけれど。

上に示した例だと、<HTML あるいは <html と書いてあることを期待しているもので、 offset 1 なので二文字目から、 /c が付いているので大小文字の区別なく、 HTML という文字があれば(全て) text/html; x-type=hoge という文字を表示する(返す)、という意味になる。実はこの場合には、全ての HTML 形式は x-type=hoge という形で処理をしたい、ということ。追加した filter に、次のように書いておくと、この magic 判定に合った場合には、ここに来るようになる。

Tube とは何ですか ?

答え:

Tube は管(くだ)です。この場合は同じ管でも真空管のことです。最近残っている真空管と言えば陰極線管 Cathode Ray Tube です。その CRT ですが、日本語、正確には日本での呼び名だとブラウン管になりますね。でも最近は、数少なく残っていたこの管も、また別の平面の装置に置き換われつつある訳ですが。

さて、ここでは Tube は (テレビや計算機の) 画面、というのが適切な気がします。良く見ると、Tube という文字は、古来のブラウン管の形の中に書いてあります。では

では You Tube とはどういう意味でしょう ?

あなたの画面 ? なら Your Tube のはずです。 Tube を動詞にすれば、文法的には説明が付く、それだとすると Tube は画面に表示する、という意味になります。

という訳で、You Tube は、あなたが(映像の)放送をするという意味です。良く見たら、下に Broadcast Yourself (TM) って書いてあるではないですか ?

という訳で、You Tube は何のことはない、「あなたが放送をする」でした。副題が「あなたを放送する」Broadcast Yourself だと思います。

こんなこと、皆んな知っていたかなぁ。

想像するに、英語圏であれば Tube がテレビの画面であることは、ほとんどの人が知っていることで、この名前の意味は、そういう意味で、皆様の常識の気がします。しかし、非英語圏では、結構知らない人が多いのでは ? と思っています。
近くにいた、Internet も英語も比較的良く知っている二人に聞きましたが、やはり知りませんでした。考えて見たことがなかったようです。

何でも楽しめるというのはいいものだ。字幕がなくて、それはそれでいろいろ考えてしまったが、逆に集中出来たという説もある。
Cosi Fan tutte と四回も言っているというのに初めて気が付いたし、「もう飛ぶまいぞこの蝶々」がケルビーノへの科白だというのも、知っていたはずだが、改めて歌と場面が結びついた気がする。マルチェリーナ(土田美登里)が素適過ぎたとか、スザンナ(満田早穂里)の歌は、それはそれは良かったとか。

fj.editor.mule 辺りでこの名前に初めて注目した。実は前から欲しいと思っていた機能。 M-x info に書いてある。

区切文字を決める
一行を単位として、区切文字で区切って、資料を書いていく
その一行を画面に表示して編集出来る
その画面の配置は CONTROL-FILE に書く

次のようにして起動する。
