#1 [FreeBSD] FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE-i386-memstick.img does not finish to load kernel.
I made boot USB memory stick on NetBSD by dd command.
And try to boot on Let's Note W4 (1.5GB Memory) with that USB memory stick.
(by the way, Is black background unexpected ?)

#1 [ML115] SM-CLP on console
ML115 (G5) を Wake up on Lan にするには (bios の設定画面がないので) ethtool
を使うという話がある。しかし BSD では wip/ethtool はあるものの、これは Linux only
ということらしい。ただ BIOS に IPMI という選択肢があるので、これを試す。
Bios の入口から Advanced Settings TAB を選ぶ。
Login と password は容易に想像出来る文字列を二回使う。
Advanced Settings - CPU - HDD - IO - ACPI - APM - Event Log - IPMI Configuration - Console Redirection - USB Configuration Video Card Support [Enabled]この中の IPMI と Console redirection が関係がある。
IPMI - SEL Configuration ( System Event Log)

- Hardware health information

その中の Serial を選ぶと
Serial Port Assignment BMC or System Serial Port Switching Enable/Disable Serial Port Connection Mode directのような画面になる。この二つ目を選ぶと、右に、次の切換鍵 (hot key) の説明がある

実は以前にも試した記憶があるが、その時には、何か、「これはだめだ」 と思ったような気がするが、それが何だったかは覚えていない。今回はうまく行っている。

ls の代りに show と入力する(ような感じ)。

もう多分何週間も前から、PC が何台か置いてある(動いている)あたりから、
カッタン、カッタン、カッタン・カッタン、カッタン・カッタン
という音が聞えて来て、変だとは思いながら、どの卓(console)を見ても、 何の異常もなく、変だなぁ、と思っていた。
きょうは物理的に卓に(目で見て)線をつなぎ、確認したら、何と RAID (昔に設定した時のこと) で、問題が出ていた。一台 disk が全く使えなくなっていて、でも構わず、 関係なく動いていたのだった。
それでこれの保守をしたが、なかなか、うまく行かなかった。 最初は、いきなり、別の disk を disklabel だけ (-R) を使って書いてから、 代りに差したのだけれど、何だかうまく行かなかった (多分やり方が良くなかったのかとは思う)。

それで、USB 経由でつないで、一度予備 disk に書いて、 という方法をためしたが、どうも、その外付 USB アダプタ に問題があるのか、まだうまく行かない。
ESATA の基板が一つあったので、これを差して、外側に USB アダプタの電源部分だけを使って、直接 SATA でつないで、
raidctl -a /dev/wd4e raid0 「 予備 disk を追加」 raidctl -F component2 raid0 「 component2 に問題があるので、何とかして」のようにして reconstruct を起動する。上の component2 の部分は、 本当にそう入力している。man page に、
raid -s raid0のようにして表示した時に、そのように表示している (こわれた) disk を交換するには、 その文字列を使えば良い、とあったから。

もう長いこと日記を書いていなかった。
本当は書くことはあったのだけれども。単に怠慢なだけ。
特に最近は丸谷才一が気に入って、良く読んでいる。
青い雨傘(図書館で借りた) 挨拶はたいへんだ 輝く日の宮(今読んでいるところ)というのは単なる枕で、最近は check-update というのを更新、実行している。 結果はここ に置いてある。 その中で最近の databases の部分だけの実行が二つある。その統計資料の部分だけを見ると

前者が 3:20 くらい、後者が 0:30 。手続(script)自体に変更はあるが、
何よりも
MASTER_SITE_PGSQL を変更
したのが大きい(はず)。これは、その変数で表示される URL に ping -n 3
をとばして、その結果を目で見て、反応の悪い先を消したもの。
もう少し自動化して、実行前に変更するのはどうかな。 あるいは毎日実行して、統計資料を作るとか。
