bootp が /etc/inetd.conf に入っているのがいけないらしい。
それを外したら、やっと起動した。

#2 [Network] pppd: CCP: timeout sending Config-Requestsこれって 「ppp の接続は確立しても、ip routing が適切でないために、 default route で設定された先と通信が出来なくて、こうなっている」時に出るらしい。 default route で設定された先の ip routing を見直したら、直った。 いつから誤った設定をしていたのだろうか。 いつものことだけれど google 万才。有難や。 ( つっこみ )
