もう多分何週間も前から、PC が何台か置いてある(動いている)あたりから、
カッタン、カッタン、カッタン・カッタン、カッタン・カッタン
という音が聞えて来て、変だとは思いながら、どの卓(console)を見ても、 何の異常もなく、変だなぁ、と思っていた。
きょうは物理的に卓に(目で見て)線をつなぎ、確認したら、何と RAID (昔に設定した時のこと) で、問題が出ていた。一台 disk が全く使えなくなっていて、でも構わず、 関係なく動いていたのだった。
それでこれの保守をしたが、なかなか、うまく行かなかった。 最初は、いきなり、別の disk を disklabel だけ (-R) を使って書いてから、 代りに差したのだけれど、何だかうまく行かなかった (多分やり方が良くなかったのかとは思う)。

それで、USB 経由でつないで、一度予備 disk に書いて、 という方法をためしたが、どうも、その外付 USB アダプタ に問題があるのか、まだうまく行かない。

ESATA の基板が一つあったので、これを差して、外側に USB アダプタの電源部分だけを使って、直接 SATA でつないで、

raidctl -a /dev/wd4e raid0   「 予備 disk を追加」
raidctl -F component2 raid0  「 component2 に問題があるので、何とかして」

のようにして reconstruct を起動する。上の component2 の部分は、 本当にそう入力している。man page に、

raid -s raid0 

のようにして表示した時に、そのように表示している (こわれた) disk を交換するには、 その文字列を使えば良い、とあったから。
