sysinst で raid1
中古の 8GB x 2 x2 を買って来た。 HP MicroServer G7 用
9 ヶ月前にルータに使っていた箱が動かなくなって、
Mother Board の原因だと思っていたのが、実はメモリの問題だ
と、最近判明したもの用(等)。でもルータには 16GB 必要なくて、
以前のルータの箱用、という意味
3,980 x 4 = 15,920
memtest86 v4.3.7 にて
メモリ テスト中 1 pass に 二時間くらいかかる。

[機械] Mac OS X の VMWare Fusion での NetBSD の時計
Mac OS X の VMWare Fusion で動いている NetBSD/amd64 5.99.15
だけれど、日付が 2009/08/30 になっている。これって独立なのかな。

Mac OS X の方の時計は合っている。試しに date で合せて見たが、
すぐには Mac OS X の方には伝わらない(当然か ?)
起動する時に時刻を拾えないと
いうことか (再起動したばかり)。もしかして dmesg を吊しておいた方が良い ?
実は全部で 8GB しかないところで /export に 2GB 程度のところで
(そのことを忘れていて)
src とか pkgsrc を展開したら、inode が足りなくなってしまった。VMWare 的には
disk は後からでも増やせるらしいが、NetBSD の方が対応出来るかな .. 無理 ?
src は単に時間を測りたかっただけなのだけれど。
(20090907 追記) 時計は眠り(sleep)から醒めた時に NetBSD 側の方が合せてくれない
のが問題、ということらしい。

[zsh] login shell を zsh にしようと
login shell を zsh にしようとして色々な機械で pkg_add とか make package
とかをしている。中には 2005 年頃に作った、多分 bulk build のものを
pkg_add したものもある。
それで、4.99.3/powerpc という機械だけは、pkg_install を作る時に、
次のようになって、先に進まない。

net/libfetch:
(2010/01/01 追記) 上記問題は pkg_install を作る時に参照する
libnbcompat の方で起きているはずだが、更に、これは
pkgsrc/net/libfetch の版が古いこと
による(らしい)。それを cvs update することにより解決した。

cvs update -dPA
cd ../pkgtools/libnbcompat/
sudo make package

[MacOSX] 水曜日にたのんだ DiskWarrior が来た
Command + S で
Single user で起動して fsck -fy としても
could not be repaired
と言われ、
Disk Warrior が必要そうな
状況だったので、Google でオンライン店舗を探して、注文。メールが来たので
すぐに JNB で振込んだら、金曜日の朝には届いた。

Disk Warrior 3.0 で起動して、修復:
disk がこわれかかっていて時間がかかりますと言っている。でもあきらめずに
最後までやってくれた。素晴しい。数時間かかった気がする。
(修復前は 10.2.x)

Western Digital 160GB:
新しく 160G の disk を買って来た
(WD 16000BB, 160GB, 7200rpm, 2M cache)。
しかし、127G しか認識しない。
でもこれは良く知られたものらしい。80G 7,000 円 160G 10,000 円なので割安感
があったが、それは消えた (ちなみに機械は G4/400 AGP 初期型)。

OS 10.3 CDROM:
OS 10.3 の CD で起動してから、
区画を二つ、あるいは三つに分けても、その分けた先には入られないと言う。
そのようなはずはないと、もう一度 CDROM から起動したら、入れられるようになった。

古い方をつなぐ:

入れて、その後で、
以前の disk を隣につないで、全てを写そうとするが、途中で
反応が無くなってしまったりする(マウスは動く)。時計が止ってしまうことも
あった。しょうがないので、disk の size を表示させておいて、フォルダ
毎に写す。いくつかどうしても写せないものがあった。(50MBytes 20 Files くらい)
キキーッという音がすると、それは再試行している時期と合っていたり。
でも
一応完了。アプリケーションは一部手で再設置したりもした。
殆んど元通りに出来た (ちなみに自分で使っている機械ではない)。

[Emacs] M-x help RET とか C-h で表示される画面を日本語(だけ)
にしたいとする。最も単純な方法。
emacs-21.3/lisp/help.el の中に書いてある部分を
訳して、euc-japan で保存
する。
./configure
make bootstrap
すると help.elc が更新され、etc/DOC の中に
それが含まれて、日本語になる。
(ただしこの方法では元の英語は無くなってしまう)
euc-japan でなく JIS(iso-2022-jp) で保存した場合、次のようになるか、ここは通過しても
表示が化けてしまう。

[Emacs] M-x command history list
Nelson H. F. Beebe という方が次のように書いている。
In emacs-21.xx, incremental searches are added to the M-x command
history list; this was a change from emacs-20.xx which I believe
should be rescinded.
Here is why:
I VERY frequently use M-x repeat-complex-command (C-x ESC ESC) and
then use the minibuffer history commands M-n and M-p to scroll up and
down in the command list. Since incremental searches are common
navigational technical, there tend to be a lot of them, and their
presence in the command history list not only clutters the list
significantly, but also effectively shortens it (by reducing the
number of M-x named commands that can be stored), and increases the
time to move up and down in that list.
When I want to recall a previous incremental search string, I use
isearch-forward's own history list, not that of M-x.
What do others on this list think?

Emacs 21 では漸次検索(Incremental search) も M-x の操作履歴に含
まれるようになった。これは Emacs 20 ではそうではなかったと思うが
これは戻すべきだ。
何故かというと
私は、
M-x repeat-complex-command (C-x ESC ESC)
の後に ミニバッファ履歴の方の M-n M-p を使って前後しながら
必要なものを探すことを
良く行う。
さて、漸次検索はあちこち探す一般的な方法だから、
とても良く使う。そうして、それが操作検索に残ると、目障りなばかり
でなく、実質的に、保存数に上限のある履歴を短くしてしまい、
結局、探す時間がかかってしまう。
実際問題として、以前の漸次検索に何を使ったかということは、
そちらの内部機能があるので、M-x は使わない。
